BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Poultry farming is place under the quaternary industry according to the classification of industries in Cameroon. There are several industries located in this same quaternary sector like hair dressing and tailoring, Shoe Making and Phone Repairs and others.

This poultry farming will be involved in an oligopoly market with many competitors. Our prime competitors include those involved in poultry farming both in large and small scale, those selling birds in the markets and quarters. Some of these poultry farmers buy their fowls at very cheap prices at cooperatives which they may profit more or sale at cheaper prices as compared to us, but strategies have already been put in place to cope with competitors

MARKETING SEGMENTS

  1. Potential customers: some of the potential customers will be restaurants owners, hotel managers, cooks, party organizers (wedding, birthdays, and other celebrations), bird’s sellers, and the population of my locality.

  1. Marketing and Sales: We will advertise our birds online using smart phones, we will contact those selling birds to take their commands, carry them to various markets for sale especially on market day, we will also do door to door delivery on command.

In other to maintain or keep our customers we will be killing and cleaning up the birds for free to customers who wish for that.

  1. Pricing policy: the first customers are going to benefit from low prices that will benefit both of us, then the prices will gradually be increased depending on the law of demand and supply.

RESEARCH DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT.

Some of the poultry workers will be carrying out more research on poultry farming for the continuous development of the poultry farm.

THE MANAGEMENT SEGMENT

Mr. Amoh will be the general manager, one other person will also be recruited to assist us in doing the cleaning since I might not be able to do all the work alone in my condition, and after 1-2 years two other workers will be recruited to work with us. Both of them shall be the sale personnel’s.
